“You Are Here” Signs
Seven new signs (see photo) have been strategically placed around the Arboretum trail system to assist those who may need some help finding their bearings. Some additional ones are contemplated. Let us know where you feel they should be located by emailing us your recommendations.

Ski Patrol
We are looking for skiers to patrol the trails in order to provide assistance in case of injury. Those interested should call Leslie at the number listed below.

A Request for Assistance
Recent ice, snow, and wind storms have combined to leave all our trails littered with fallen branches and trees. This misfortune struck just after all the work done by the John Abbott College Trail Maintenance initiative organized in mid-November by Karen Oljemark of JAC, and the Unilever effort in October.
Many thanks to the volunteers who assisted Karen and Malcolm Johnson - Mike Vanderlinden, David Hill, Jill Reznick, Alyshia Keays-Hill, Cody Smith, Darren Langford, Ian Claudi, and Chick Taylor. (see adjoining photos)
Current trail conditions are such that Arboretum staff will not be able to complete the clean-up before the holidays. Members are requested to come in and while walking ANY of the trails, pick up and move to the side any deadfalls they encounter. Proper footwear is recommended as there are many areas where the standing water has not yet drained away.
Your contribution will free up Arboretum staff to do the heavy work requiring specialized expertise and machinery. Thank you.

Snowshoeing in the Arboretum
Are you contemplating trying the sport of snowshoeing this year? Why not consider participating in the formation, or being part of, a snowshoeing group this winter? Call Leslie at the number listed.

Old Trailer or Axle Needed
Volunteer member Darren Langford is reconditioning a 3-wheel ATV that could be used by staff for trail management. If anyone has an old trailer, or an axle with two wheels, that they’d like to donate, he’d be able to build a cart that could be towed to carry tools or materials.

Christmas Sale Continues
The Christmas Sale is on and will run as long as supplies last. Groomed and natural trees, boughs, greeting cards, sugar shack models, and gift memberships are all available at the Gatehouse.
