25 km of trails

One of the most widely enjoyed pastimes is simply walking the trails - in fact, if you wish to see the Arboretum out of the skiing season that is obligatory as cycling and motor vehicles are forbidden.

Collect a copy of the trail map from the office and set off or else download a map and print your own.

Important:
Please understand and follow our basic trail policy ..

  1. Trail users should stay on designated trails.
  2. Users should be aware that most of our trails are minimal impact/minimal maintenance forest trails and should expect rough areas, wet areas, roots, fallen branches etc.
  3. Users should come prepared with appropriate footwear and clothing.
  4. Users should be aware that is easy to get lost in the Arboretum. Unfamiliar users should focus on the better marked trails closer to the centre of the Arboretum (eg. Orange, Red)

We are building a collection of trail descriptions and "virtual walks" that you can follow from the links below:

Orange Trail (Centre Road)

Yellow Trail

Blue Trail (Dogs are forbidden)

Red Trail

Green (Eco) Trail

Snowshoe Trail

Birding Trail

** note that some of these virtual walks take the form of automated photo-galleries which you can step through image by image or allow to run by themeselves - start the tour by selecting the top left image and then use the buttons which are to the top left of the subsequent screens to control your choice of how you advance.
