The principal activities that take place in the Arboretum are explained on their own pages within this website - as you can see from the navigation links to the left.

There are many others though, even if the number of participants is quite small and doubtless there are many of which we are not aware.

What do you want to do in the Arboretum?

Why not tell us?

One BIG event that is taking place throughout 2009 is an attempty to document the year in photographs ... the invitation we sent to members at the start of the year asking them to join in read as follows:

Documenting a Year in the Forest

Please help us to make a record of the year 2009 in the Morgan Arboretum

No two visitors to the Arboretum find the same experiences as each other – similarly, no two days are ever the same. We come here to walk, to exercise our dogs, to watch birds, smell the flowers, laugh at the squirrels, ski, jog, have fun with our children on the sliding hill … all in sun, snow, heat, cold and rain. It's an ever changing environment.

In 2009 we would like to make a visual record of the year as it progresses. Will you help us put this together?

Whether you are a professional photographer or it's the first time out with that new point-and-shoot camera you were given for Christmas you can make a record of what you do and what you see. We want to collect photographs from every day of 2009 and so document the year as it passes … one picture each day will be showcased on our website but all pictures will be preserved to show what a wonderful place our forest is.

Whenever you go to the arboretum in 2009, please take a camera and send us one or two pictures of what you did and what you experienced – of something that was special about the day from snowflake to leaf to flower to bird to a skier falling over. Anything and everything is of interest.

Send your pictures to us by email at morganarboretum@gmail.com … our aim is to collect at least one picture for every day of the year.
